Hundreds of Dixon Residents Attended Annual March for Life in San Francisco
Dixon’s St. Peter Catholic Church chartered six buses to bring over 300 Dixon residents to the 10th annual Walk for Life West Coast on Saturday, January 25 in San Francisco. This was the fifth year St. St. Peter’s has organized busses to the event.About another 50 will be driving themselves to the event. The day began with a Mass celebrated at 9:00 am, after which buses will depart.
The entire crowd was estimated at about 60,000 people.
There was an information faire from 11 am to 12:30 pm, the a rally began at 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Civic Center, with the rally beginning at noon with informative and inspirational speeches by several grass-roots pro-life activists. A peaceful, prayerful march down Market Street will follow the rally beginning at 1:30 pm. Last year, an estimated 60,000 people attended the event.
Upon returning to Dixon at about 6 pm, a free pasta dinner was providedill be offered in the St. Peter parish hall. The dinner is sponsored and prepared by the St. Peter Knights of Columbus, Young Ladies Institute, St. Peter’s Hispanic Committee, and other parish groups.
A few bus seats are still available to anyone sharing the belief that all human life is sacred. A $25 donation per passenger is requested to offset the actual costs of the buses. Contact Evelyn Williams at (707) 301-1667.
