Dixon High School Cheerleading Tryouts Announced

Aspiring cheerleaders and their parents are also encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, March 27 at 6:00 pm in the Dixon High School Multipurpose Room to meet the coaches and answer any questions they may have about the upcoming cheerleading season. Tryouts will be held the week of April 7th.

Cheerleading is where all the fun begins. There are games, rallies, camp and other exciting events to look forward to. Not only are the simple fundamentals of cheerleading exciting, but athletes will learn some of life’s important skills such as leadership, responsibility, time management, respect and teamwork.

Dixon High School has announced Courtney Hennigan and Korie Robinson as the returning Cheer Coaches for the 2014 Football Season. Together, they have more than 20 years of cheerleading and coaching experience and are safety-certified through the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations.\

They have coached with DYFC, C.A. Jacobs, DHS and Pride All-Stars and have been quite successful taking their teams to compete at the National level. Last year both JV and Varsity teams qualified and performed in the ProBowl halftime show in Hawaii and two seniors qualified and performed in the London New Year’s Day Parade.

Courtney and Korie invite all current 8th -11th graders to pick up a cheerleading packet in their school office for more information about tryouts and the cheerleading program as soon as possible. For questions, email dixonhighcheer@gmail.com or call (707) 330-6905.
