Deadline Near for Lambtown Vendors

Fine Arts and Artisan vendors are invited to apply to sell hand prepared merchandise in the 2014 Lambtown Festival. August 1, 2014 is the deadline for applications. Just go to www.lambtown.org and click on the vendor tab to access the vendor application and contract. Fill them out completely and submit by the deadline to receive a reduced fee.

The Fiber Committee is organizing classes and free demonstrations for both days.

This should increase traffic in the sales area. The Sheep Show, Sheep Dog Trials and Shearing competitions and sheep dyeing will be held over both days. We are adding a Fine Fibers Show for Mohair, Alpaca, Cashmere and Angora (bunny) fibers in addition to our Wool Show.

Lambtown has a Facebook fan page and a presence on Ravelry so the list of vendors will be accessed by all those interested in the Lambtown Festival. Once again, we will place your web link on the Lambtown webpage to advertise your attendance at this event. As a way to showcase a new item you are carrying or technique you would like to share, a demo area will be set up for your use or you may choose to do this in your booth. These demonstrations will be scheduled ahead of time and advertised through the website, Facebook, Ravelry and signs at the Lambtown Festival.

After a fun day at Lambtown, you can top it off by taking the kids to the Guinness Book World Record Corn Maze and Cool Patch Pumpkin Patch just 5 minutes from the fairgrounds. Enjoy some of the best pumpkin pie around, race through the corn maze and pick up that perfect pumpkin for the kids.

The 28th Annual Lambtown Festival will be held at the Dixon May Fair Grounds, 655 South 1st St., Dixon, on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, October 5, 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is just $3.00 for adults. Children 6 - 13 $1.00 and kids 5 and under are FREE! For your enjoyment, you will find craft and fiber booths, carnival rides for kids, competitions, and as always, a variety of great food celebrating the lamb industry and the rich agricultural heritage of the region. This year's live entertainment will feature great bands and dance routines. There are fun and educational events for every member of the family.
