St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

On Friday, March 15, at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1305 North First Street, will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner. There will be corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots with a roll for $15. Wear green!

Lions Barbecue

Dixon Lions Club will be having an authentic Texas BBQ Tri-Tip Drive-Thru Fundraiser on Saturday, April 20, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tractor Supply parking lot, 2000 North First Street.

For only $20.00 per meal, you get sliced BBQ Tri-Tip potato salad, beans, and dinner roll. All proceeds help fund Dixon programs. For tickets, please call Cassie Ciraulo at (707) 301-8483 or any Dixon Lions Club Member.

Since the club’s chartering in 1954, proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to Team Dixon, Dixon Unified School District, Dixon Toys for Tots, Dixon Schools Athletic Boosters, Dixon Relay for Life, Dixon High School scholarships, Wreaths Across America, Dixon Bids for Kids, Dixon Destination Imagination, Dixon Dolphins swim team, Dixon youth sports programs, DHS Open House, DHS Sober Grad Night, Dixon FFA, Dixon Elementary School outdoor education trips and Lions Club vision programs.

Swim Team Registration

The early bird registration discount is happening now through March 15 for the Dixon Dolphin Swim Team so sign up early to save. Go to www.dixondolphins.org. First Day of practice will be April 8. All of the scheduled meets for the season are on the website currently.

Little League Opening Day

Little League will host its opening Day on Saturday, March 9 at Hall Park. Games will be played at 10 a.m.

Planning Commission

The next City Planning commission meeting will be Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 600 East A Street. One can also participate in the meetings via Zoom or watch the meetings online in real time or afterwards via cityofdixon.us, click on government, and then on agendas.

Public Safety Discussion

Please join Sheriff Tom Ferrara and district Attorney Krishna Abrams on March 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a discussion on the 2024 Public Safety Initiative ‘Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act.’ The measure will increase penalties for repeat drug and theft offenders and help to correct the unintended consequences of Prop 47. The meet up will be in Vacaville at Makse Restaurant, 555 Main Street, in downtown Vacaville.

Chamber Mixer

Join the Dixon Chamber at their March Mixer on Tuesday, March 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Travis Credit Union at 1470 Ary Lane. Mixers are to help deepen one’s business relationships and capitalize on opportunities to ensure a successful 2024.

Fish Fry

Tonight’s the night! Friday, March 8, is the Fish Fry which includes hush puppies, fries, and coleslaw. Cost is $12. The hall is located at 1305 North First Street and dress is casual. No reservations are necessary, and one does not have to be a veteran.

Hear About Water

A talk about water rates and water issues will be shared by California Water and the City of Dixon at the next Dixon Women’s Improvement Club meeting on the third Wednesday of the month, which is March 20. It will be at 1 p.m. at the Dixon United Methodist church Fellowship Hall, 209 N. Jefferson at the B Street entrance. Guests are welcome.

Senior St. Patrick’s Lunch

On Monday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m. the Rotary Club of Dixon will be sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Lunch and Celebration at the Dixon Multi-Use/Senior Center, 201 South Fifth Street. Cost is $3 per person, and one must sign up and pay by Friday, March 15. The menu will be traditional corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and dessert. Bingo will be played afterwards.
