DIXON, CA (MPG) - Lights! Camera! Action! Dawson’s Bar and Grill took center stage last Wednesday when film crews arrived to feature the restaurant as one of America’s Best Restaurants on the Food Network. The company produces the ultimate guide for folks to discover and enjoy local dining experiences across the United States.

They were on site at Jill and Greg Orr’s place capturing content with interviews and videos that will highlight what makes the long-time, independently owned eatery “an unforgettable dining experience.” In this case, it is Victor Sanchez, the chef for Dawson’s who has been cooking for at least 25 years.

“My specialty is everything,” he said, wearing a broad smile. He prepared three dishes for the crew to sample including Chili Salmon with risotto, a pastrami sandwich on a pretzel bun and the ever-so-popular: chicken and waffles. “I really enjoy my job,” he added.

Nick Mammone, Videographer was the videographer who captured close ups of the food, the chef, and both the inside and outside of the restaurant.

“They called me because they liked my history of why we bought it, which was on our Facebook page. They also read about our community involvement, checked out our website and reviews,” said Jill.

“We’re all about helping independent restaurants,” said host Theo Williams who reported he’s been behind a mic since 2008 and was obviously comfortable interviewing people. “I like that Dawson’s is an older restaurant but has a unique, new flavor. We travel and do lots of restaurants.”

Matt Plapp, CEO of America’s Best Restaurants, started a digital marketing journey more than 15 years ago helping locally owned and operated restaurant owners increase their profits by attracting the attention of their customers every week.

The Orrs’ will be posting the feature for all to see as soon as it is completed.

“I’ll actually own it when they are done,” Jill said with enthusiasm. She plans to use it on the Dawson website and share it on other social media platforms.
