DIXON, CA (MPG) - Beautiful sunshine is forecast for Easter weekend according to the California Weather Channel, giving Dixonites abundant opportunities to worship and celebrate spring.

Good Friday begins a weekend full of church services in our town of Dixon. Bring your own chairs--and maybe an umbrella--for the annual Good Friday Church Service coordinated by a group of ministers from the local churches, this Friday evening, March 29, at 7 p.m. at the Pardi Plaza stage in downtown Dixon. In the event of rain, the service will be held at Calvary Chapel, 150 North First Street. All are welcome.

Various Dixon Pastors will offer Bible verses, music, songs, and messages for this Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday.

Faiths across the world celebrate Easter, the day Jesus was resurrected after three days dead where his body was laid in a tomb after his crucifixion. When he rose from the dead, Christians believe he proved his promise of conquering death and provided witness for eternal life for believers.
