DIXON, CA (MPG) - Floral arranging is a favorite topic for the Dixon Women’s Improvement Club members so will be welcoming back Courtney Kett, Co-Owner of Dixon Florist and Gifts, to present at their Wednesday, April 17, meeting at 1 p.m. Meetings are held at the Dixon United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 209 East Jefferson.

Kett is back by popular demand and will share her extensive knowledge of plants and flowers while demonstrating floral arranging techniques. She will share seasonal flowers available at the flower market in San Francisco and entertain with wonderful family memories of her mom and dad, Jean and Joe Williams, who raised five children while owning and operating the family business. Guests are welcome to attend.

In other news, the annual Scholarship Dinner held at Bud’s Pub and Grill in February was highly successful in allowing the group to provide more scholarships to graduating seniors for the Dixon High School Class of 2024. They will be honored at the last meeting of the year which is a luncheon on May 15.

Applications are available at the school counseling office. In addition, the unique gift baskets, both large and small, and products donated by the members raised more than $2,000 for the DWIC Community Grant Program for funding special projects of local non-profit organizations.
