Dixon Lions Club will be having an authentic Texas BBQ Tri-Tip Drive-Thru Fundraiser on Saturday, April 20, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tractor Supply parking lot, 2000 North First Street. For $20 per meal, one gets sliced BBQ Tri-Tip, potato salad, beans, and dinner roll. All proceeds help fund Dixon programs. City Meeting

The next City Meeting will be the Planning Commission on Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 600 East A Street. Meetings can be watched on video at cityofdixon.us then click on the government tab, then click on planning commission, then on agendas. Finally, you should be able to access back meeting videos.

Sidewalk Art

Tweens and Teens are invited to create art on the sidewalk with colored chalk on Saturday, April 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. in front of the Dixon Public Library at 230 North First Street. This is part of the Solano County Public Library’s activities for the month of April for the Dixon branch and more can be seen online at solanolibrary.com.

Murder Mystery

Tickets are now on sale for the ‘Murder Mystery at the Dixon Manor’ on Saturday, April 20, through Sunday, April 28, put on by the Dixon Community Theater. The event will be at the McCune House, 360 North First Street. Join the fun via www.dixoncommunitytheater.com/murder-mystery.html. You can also find more information about the theater, casting calls, and show dates there.

DFS Open House

Dixon Family Services will host an Open House on Thursday, April 18, 4:30 to 6 p.m. to celebrate its 40th anniversary. There will be light refreshments and a ribbon cutting. The public is invited to a brief presentation and a tour of the building. They are located at 155 North Second Street in downtown Dixon.

Business Training

Join the Solano-Napa SBDC, the Workforce Development Board of Solano County and California Employers Association for a half-day professional development business+s summit on Thursday, April 18, in Vacaville designed to elevate leadership skills. This summit is free to all Solano County employers and business owners.

The 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon summit is at Travis Credit Union, One Travis Way in Vacaville, and will feature a training on developing your own employee handbook as well as an interactive training on problem solving and critical thinking. Learn more and register: www.solanonapasbdc.org.

Another Quick Quack Grand Opening

Join the crowd for one of the new Quick Quack Car Washes with their Ribbon Cutting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at the Stratford/Lincoln location next to Denny’s. They will be giving away 12 days of free car washes through April 14. For more information, go to DontDriveDirty.com.

Water Rate Workshops

There will be two water rate workshops offered by the City of Dixon in April. One will be on April 8 at 7 p.m.  and the second will be April 25 at 7 p.m. (if needed.) They will be held at the Senior/Multi-Use Center at 201 South Fifth Street in Dixon from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn more about the water system process and provide input.

May Fair Entry Deadlines

Don't forget the deadline for many of the categories for the Dixon May Fair is coming up. RETURN your completed and signed entry form and entry fee to the Dixon May Fair office by 5 p.m. Friday, April 12, or mail your form by the deadline to P.O. Box 459, Dixon, CA 95620. One can also enter online at www.dixonmayfair.com. There is a fee for using the online service.
