DIXON, CA (MPG) - Peter Hoang of Pro Clips Salon has been in the hair care business for 20 years.

His salon, located at 1285 Stratford Ave., started as a family business before Hoang gained full ownership.

Hoang’s self-proclaimed dedication to creativity and continuous education led him to Marco Pelusi, a salon owner, celebrity hair colorist, and platform artist and educator.

This year, Hoang, as a brand ambassador for Pelusi’s products, earned the Brand Ambassador of the Year award for the fifth year in a row.

“I have been an ambassador for Marco’s Collagen Hair Care products since 2019. I went to his master class and got credentialed for his highlighting strategies. He has a great highlighting technique,” said Hoang,

According to Hoang, Pelusi reached out to him after this meeting in 2017, inspiring Hoang to learn more about Pelusi’s products and techniques. Pelusi, who mentored Hoang, considers his protégé a force of nature.

“I would like to invite people, literally anyone with the opportunity in Northern California, to stop by Hoang’s salon,” said Pelusi. “He has been trained by the best and has great hair care knowledge. This is a call to action: anyone out in Dixon should go see him.”

Hoang was invited to the West Hollywood Design District on April 22 to participate in Pelusi’s 20-year celebration of his hair studio. The event not only featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, but also recognition of Hoang’s efforts and a presentation of his award.

According to Hoang, the recognition felt great, and he is happy he has made it so far in his field.

Pelusi agrees, referring to Hoang as a future leader in the industry, a rare gem and a professional.

Hoang said that he will continue his growth, which includes research, attending hair shows and consistent studying. To Hoang, his love for his clients and his need for greater knowledge have helped him persevere.

“I just want to continue to serve. It’s a great community out here; it’s a family town and I have built a great relationship with many of my clients. I want to bring the best to the community and continue to educate myself. I really enjoy working out here,” said Hoang.
