The scammer is English speaking and tries to entice their targeted victim claim the victim’s personal business information is currently in a public records file and easy accessible by anyone. He states he can assist in removing tha name and information from this file, but would need a checking account number in order to accomplish the deletion of her files. The Dixon resident who was contacted refused to give out the information, hung up and immediately called the police. The Dixon Police Department cautions everyone against releasing any information related to their bank accounts, credit cards or social security numbers.
