I have been asked to respond to a letter in a local newspaper, perhaps because I wear several hats important to the subject of water service in Dixon. I am a Dixon Citizen, and Dixon's Mayor. The problems surrounding Dixon's water service are serious and resolvable.

Your ideas, comments and suggestions to make our Dixon infrastructure better are essential for our City. We all know that our Dixon City Water Service has problems that need to be fixed. We all know that the rate increase proposed by the City was not accepted by the City Water customers. We all know that the choice to continue service without maintenance is a mistake. We know that the City must now do a better job communicating. We all know that we need to come together and find a solution to this problem so that our City can continue to move ahead.

We have a vision of clean, safe, dependable water for every home in Dixon. We would like to thank those Dixon residents who have already stepped up and shared positive ideas to help solve this problem.
