Darrell Savelli sentenced to 15 years-to-life plus 12 years

Healy Presiding, Defendant Darrell Savelli was sentenced to 15 years-to-life plus 12 years in the state prison. The victim gave a powerful victim impact statement to the court.
On September 13, 2021, in Department 2 of the Solano County Superior Court, before the Honorable Daniel J. Healy Presiding, the jury found Defendant Darrell Savelli Guilty of Oral Copulation of a Minor Ten Years or Younger in violation of Penal Code section 288.7(b), and four counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts of a Minor Under the Age of Fourteen in violation of Penal Code section 288(a). From February 2, 2009, through September 28, 2010, when the victim was seven to nine years old, the defendant, who was 44 years old, was living with the victim and the victim’s family as a friend of the victim’s father. The victim courageously testified at jury trial on August 30, 2021, regarding the crimes the defendant committed.
Sgt. Leslie Bottomley of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, formerly of the Vallejo Police Department, investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Barry Shapiro. Victim Witness Advocate Amy Harris provided advocacy and support to the victim.
