Turn Clock Back

Don't forget to turn your clocks back on Sunday, November 6. If you remember to turn your clock back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday, November 5, you'll wake up on time, right?

Kitten Adoption

Solano Kitten Network is a non-profit organization serving Dixon and Solano County that currently has two adorable kittens ready for adoption. One is gray and named Sawyer and the other is a black and white tuxedo cat named Cleopatra. Hall of Fame

The Dixon High Athletic Association--an organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of local high school athletics, hosts an annual 'Hall of Fame' dinner and inducts nominees who must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character. It will be held Saturday, November 12 at 6 p.m. More information is available at www.dixonhighhalloffame.com or call (707) 592-1774.

City Planning

Tuesday, November 8, is the next City Planning Commission Meeting at the Council Chambers, 600 East A Street. There are three ways a Dixonite can participate: You can go in person, you can use Zoom in real time and ask questions if you want, or you can watch via 'Granicus,' which is a live feed through the City of Dixon website. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and the agenda is also on the website.

Pork Dinner

The Friday night dinner at the Veterans Memorial Hall will be a pork dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables and a roll for only $10. Time is 6 to 8 p.m. while supplies last. It is located at 1305 North First Street. You do not have to be a veteran to attend. The funds help support the hall and veteran activities.

Senior News

Senior Bingo is every Monday at 12 noon at the Senior/Multi-Use Center, 201 South Fifth Street. It is a nickel per card/per game and anyone is welcome. There needs to be at least six people to play. Bring your change and plan on fun. Call 678-7022 for more information. Need a ride? Call Readi-Ride at 678-5020. They’ll pick you up at your house and bring you to the Center and return you home when you’re ready. Call (707) 678-7022 between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for info.

Montessori Fundraiser

Dixon Montessori Charter School is hosting a 'Dine & Donate' fundraiser at Mary's Pizza Shack on Tuesday, November 15, all day. Mary's Pizza Shack serves homemade pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads and soups and will donate 20-percent of Dine In, Take Out, or Delivery orders all day. To participate, please mention the Dine & Donate for DMCS.

Happy Paws

There is a grand opening planned for Saturday, November 5 at Happy Paws Kennels at 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Actually, Happy Paws has been around since 1971 and is located on ten acres of country property but they have added a new expansion to serve their customers. Vet's Big Dinner

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Veteran's Day Dinner on Friday, November 11. The menu is barbecue Tri-tip or chicken, broccoli salad, and chili beans. Dinner tickets for a single is $15 and can be purchased from the Veterans Memorial Hall on Friday nights anytime after 5 p.m. A table of eight is $100 and a couple is $25.

There will also be a large raffle with a separate drawing for a half a hog and a 50-inch LED television.

In other ALP 208 news, Wednesday through Friday the Hall will now have their bar open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The hall is located at 1305 North First Street.
