Annual Firefighters’ Santa Run Set
Dec 19, 2023 12:12PM ● By Debra DingmanDIXON, CA (MPG) - Don’t be alarmed that your neighbor’s house is on fire when you hear the loud sirens of fire trucks coming down your street. It’s just the annual Dixon Santa Run.
The Dixon Professional Firefighters Association Local 4665 and Santa will be visiting the community to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and you are invited to come out with friends and family to celebrate the holiday season. You can even take a photo with Santa.
On December 9, they will be travelling around Conejo Park from North Lincoln to West H Streets from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
On December 20, they will be driving around the Veterans Park area which is Parkway Boulevard to Dixon Avenue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. On December 21, they will do one last run in the Northwest Park area from Dixon Avenue to West H street. Times are also 5:30 to 9 p.m.
On the last night of the Santa Run, the public is invited to join them at the Pardi Plaza to have a photo op with Santa and enjoy some kettle corn and hot apple cider. Santa plans to arrive around 7:30 p.m. The group raises money throughout the year so they can give back to the community at events like the Christmas Tree Lighting and this visit through the community.
In 2021, they responded to a record 2,954 calls for service. Dixon Fire Department hosts training for entry level technical rescue training for low angle rope rescue, hitches and anchor systems, ascending/descending, victim packaging, and fall protection.
They also help with more advanced training such as ladder rescue systems, lifting and moving heavy objects, breaking and breaching operations and building shoring operations.
Dixon Firefighters have always been a part of the bigger emergency response network both locally and statewide. The Fire Department is located at 205 Ford Way.
