Rotary Pancake Breakfast
The annual pancake breakfast has been a part of the May Fair parade tradition “way over 20 years,” according to Dixon Rotary Club President Marianne MacDonald.
“It’s the Ron DuPratt breakfast because he had perfect attendance in our Rotary Club for over 60 years,” she said. “We do this as a service for the community because people meet there before they go to the parade, and they meet friends that they may have only seen once a year.”
The breakfast will be Saturday, May 11 from 7 to 10 a.m. and is $5 per plate. It will be at the Olde Vet’s Hall, 231 North First Street in downtown Dixon. Tickets are available at the door. Dixon’s Rotary Club fundraisers go to Dixon High School scholarships, Remember-a-Vet Program, Dixon school programs, and various community projects.
“All servicemen in uniform get a free breakfast,” MacDonald reminded. “We serve over 600 breakfasts, and we do not make any money on this. The Boy Scout Troop that we sponsor helps us with this,” she said. For more information, see the Dixon Rotary Facebook page or call MacDonald at (707) 678-1615.
