Snow White Production

Valley of the Sacred Heart Academy will present Snow White on Friday, May 24, 5 p.m. at St. Peter’s Parish Hall, 105 South Second Street.

The production includes 16 junior and senior students as part of the Chesterton Academy Drama program.

“Jesse Akers is our drama teacher. We did a murder mystery at Christmas with him and we will do Shakespeare next year as part of the curriculum that he will help with. He does a great job,” said School Director Chris Simpson. “He helped us connect with his Winters theater group for costumes. It’s a very costume-heavy production.”

Akers’ is well known in the Dixon community for his dedication to the arts. His education included getting his undergraduate degree in fine-art-studio at UC Davis and then on to graduate school at UCD in education, winning his multiple subject teaching credential and ultimately retiring from teaching elementary grade education. He moved on to substitute teaching at the K-4th grade level in Dixon, Vacaville, and Winters. Akers has been teaching at Valley of the Sacred Heart Academy for the past six years.

"We hope people will come out to enjoy the show and donations will be gladly accepted at the door.” said Simpson. For more information, call (530) 574-0804.
