Downtown Dixon Business Association T-Shirt Fundraiser for Officer Matthew Bowen
The Downtown Dixon Business Association is hosting a " T-Shirt Fundraiser" in remembrance of Officer Matthew Bowen, who recently passed away. T-shirts are available at Dawson's Restaurant, Avila's Flooring, Tres Bandida's & Sofia Grace Boutique in Downtown Dixon. The proceeds from each T-shirt sold will go directly to his wife and two small children. Please join our community in supporting this effort.... buy a T-Shirt!
Dixon Lions Club 16th Annual Texas Hold ‘em Poker Fundraiser
Join us on Saturday, Aug. 17. Cocktails begin at 5 p.m., Poker starts at 7 p.m. No host bar. Must be 21 or older to attend. Fundraiser proceeds benefit youth sports and activities, Dixon High School scholarships, Lions Club Vision Program, Elementary and Middle School Programs. Every Thursday, the Downtown Dixon Farmer’s Market takes place. You can indulge in organic fruits and vegetables, freshly baked bread, nuts, homemade salsa, tamales, hummus, olive oil, sweets, and more. The market runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. until Sept. 26 at Women’s Improvement Club Park, 230 North First Street.
Veterans Dinner
It is ham on the menu for Friday, Aug. 16, at about 5:30 p.m. The cost is $12 per person. All you can eat! The hall is located at 1305 North First St. and helps support veterans.
Wine & Art Stroll is this Saturday
Come downtown and enjoy some amazing wine, food, and music Saturday, Aug. 17, 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $35. Each comes with a commemorative wine glass. This event will happen rain or shine. Visit www.downtowndixonca.com for more information. Must be 21 years old or over to attend.

Railroad Days will be here before too long
Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7 and 8, Railroad Days will be here. Enjoy fun for the entire family! Vintage Train Modelers come to town. Gold panning, kiddie train rides, trading post store, live music, and vendors. Local food and drinks. In historic Downtown Dixon, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Chipotle Opens to the Delights of Many
Please welcome Dixon’s newest restaurant, Chipotle. They opened on Thursday, Aug. 8, and have been packed ever since! The restaurant will feature the brand's signature Chipotlane, a drive through pick-up lane that allows guests to conveniently pick up digital orders without leaving their cars. Their location is 2100 North First Street, and they are open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8151 Meeting
It is the third Wednesday of the month which means the VFW at Olde Vets Hall at 231 North First Street will hold their monthly meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 21. Please call (209) 395-8019 for more information.

City of Dixon workers broke out a swathe of concrete near the Dixon Library's front doors this past week and replaced it with compressed granite as they ready the ground for the addition of one or two benches to be installed soon.
