DIXON, CA (MPG) - For more than a million people, the Weekend to Remember conference has been a turning point in their marriage. After several years of hosting the popular marriage conference online, the organization is returning to an in-person gathering not far from Dixon and reservations are now being taken.

“We had roots of bitterness that were growing deep,” said one wife. “Marriage is super tough but the most gratifying experience you can have,” one husband said. “We now have a vision of what marriage is supposed to be,” said another husband, then added, “We didn’t have the greatest parents to show us what a good marriage looked like.”

Whether simply looking for a deeper purpose for life together or hovering on the brink of disaster, here is good news: There is a plan for hope and love for couples at the upcoming ‘Weekend to Remember’ marriage conference in Sacramento.

“For many couples, weekly counseling sessions do not provide assistance fast enough for the sense of urgency that people feel when their marriage is in trouble,” said Debra Dingman, who has volunteered for Weekend to Remember for more than a decade. “For marriages that seem on the verge of divorce, this conference is like six months of marriage counseling power-packed into one weekend that gives foundational tools for healing.”

Couples learn how to communicate more effectively, resolve conflict, develop greater intimacy, and renew the excitement they first felt in their marriage through presentations from speakers who have had similar experiences yet garnered strength through Biblical principles.

Engaged couples are also welcome.

This year’s retreat, sponsored by FamilyLife, will be held Nov. 8 through 10, Hilton Sacramento Arden West in Sacramento. The cost of the three-day conference is $175 per person or $350 per couple but if signing up through a Group Coordinator, there is a savings of $100 per couple.

For Dixon group information, call (707) 301-0795 or visit http://www.familylife.com for detailed information. Military rates are significantly reduced, and the Pastor rate is free.

It will be held at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West, 2200 Harvard Street in Sacramento and rooms there will be $159 per night if couples choose to stay there but attendees are not required to. Parking is an additional $6 per night.
