There is just one week left until workshops begin on Thursday, Oct. 3 to kick off the 38th annual Lambtown Festival. Skip the line at the ticket office and order your tickets now. Gates for general admission open at 9 a.m. sharp on both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6 and the fairgrounds have updated their security screening process to help speed everyone safely through the gate.


Arsenic & Lace

Dixon Community Theater is thrilled to present Arsenic and Old Lace, a classic comedy that mixes dark humor with surprise. Performances will run October 12 thru 20 at the Dixon High School Theater. To purchase tickets, visit: https://www.dixoncommunitytheater.com/tickets.html.

 

Community Garden

If you’re interested in growing your own food and learning more about local plants, or you just like being in the garden, you are invited to join Sustainable Solano on Thursday, Sept. 25, Oct. 3 and Oct. 17 at the Dixon Public Library for a discussion about starting a community garden. The meetings will start at 6 p.m. and the library is located at 230 North First Street in downtown Dixon. Puzzles Therapy

For seniors and adults, puzzle therapy will be offered all day on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Dixon Public Library. Every Friday adults are encouraged to drop in to play with jigsaw puzzles and brain games at 230 North First Street.

 

City Council

Sneaking up on us is the next City Council Meeting that falls on the very first day of the month, Oct. 1, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 600 East A Street, at 7 p.m. The agenda and information for Zoom if you care to attend from home computer or phone is on the agenda at cityofdixon.us under the government tab.

 

Free Food & Clothes

Grace Fellowship Church has announced its sixth annual Free Food and Clothing for the Community event on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 to 11 a.m. at 535 West H Street. Bingo for Kittens

Mark your calendars and plan on joining the fun of a Bingo Benefit for the Solano Kitten Network, their biggest fundraiser of the year. It will be held at the American Legion Hall on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 6 p.m.

For just $30, you get 25 games of Bingo, appetizers, pizza, and a non-alcoholic although there is a full, no-host bar available. For those who bring a bag of cat food, they will receive an extra set of cards. Meat Loaf Mania

Where do you get delicious meatloaf and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy and green beans but the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1305 North First Street next to the newly reopened Napa Auto Parts store. Dinner is $12 and the time is 5:30 p.m. with casual dress. Full bar (no -host) is open.

 

Beer Be Here

The Downtown Dixon Business Association hasn’t rested from Train Days and is busy getting ready for their Saturday, Oct. 12, Brewski Fest. Tickets are $35 and one must be at least 21 years of age.
