Veterans Day Dinner

Veterans Day Dinner will be Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. and will be a Turkey Dinner with all the sides for $20 each. The bar opens at 6 p.m. at 1305 North First Street. Tickets are sold at the door.

 

October 31 Treats

Looking for a safe place for children to get candy and treats? Come by Cornerstone Church at 185 West Cherry Street in Dixon where they will have treats for everyone to enjoy, including candy, popcorn, and cotton candy. The give-away will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.

 

Spanish Readers

The Dixon Community Theater is hosting a Spanish Readers Theater Group the second Tuesday evening of each month, 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. at the Dixon Public Library at 230 North First Street. All levels are welcome. The first play is Pride and Prejudice: A Short Play. Originally written by Jane Austin in England, in 1813. Adapted by Carol Quintero. It will be available in English and Spanish. No memorization is needed, just fun and enjoyment for all.

Downtown Dixon Meeting

The next Downtown Dixon Business Association meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Dixon Public Library at 8:30 a.m. The details of the Christmas Tree Lighting will be covered, and volunteers requested. The non-profit is looking for new Board members who will be part of the 2025 Planning Retreat in January. Dixon Lions Halloween Fundraiser

Saturday, Oct. 26, from 7 p.m. to midnight, the Dixon Lions Club will present a Halloween Bash Fundraiser at Tenbrink Orchards, 5200 Thissell Road, in Winters. Tickets are $35 per person, and you’re asked to please wear your favorite costume. They are not required but are fun to see! There will be dancing, a live DJ, a photo booth, a food truck, costume contest with prizes, and a no host bar. Must be 21 and over to attend. Call Scott Smith for more info at (916) 806-7451.

 

Teen Halloween Cookie Decorating

After school on Thursday, Oct. 31, come and decorate free Halloween Cookies with your favorite toppings to make them even tastier at the Dixon Public Library at 230 North First Street. This event is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is geared towards tweens and teens, ages ten to eighteen. All ages are welcome. However, children under ten years of age must have a parent or guardian with them to attend.

 

Assembly Candidates Forum

The Dixon Chamber of Commerce announces the State Assembly Candidates Forum on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. for the position of Assembly Member for District 11. The candidates for the position are as follows: Lori D. Wilson, incumbent and Dave Ennis.

YLI Soup Luncheon

The Young Ladies Institute (YLI) is holding their annual Soup Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is $15 per person and is all you can eat at St. Peter's Parish Hall, 105 South 2nd St.
