DIXON, CA (MPG) - Get ready for some holiday magic as Dixon Community Theatre is excited to announce audition dates for its upcoming Christmas production, ‘The Little Town of Christmas.’ They are seeking talented young performers, ages six to 18, as well as two adult roles, to bring this festive and hilarious show to life.

Audition dates and location are Monday, Oct. 28, 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 29, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dixon Senior Multi-Use Center, 201 South 1st St.

Come and join the fun; there is no need to memorize anything in advance, just be ready to tell a short story and read from the script. 

"We want everyone to have a great time at the auditions. It’s all about enjoying theater and sharing a bit of holiday cheer," said Dixon Community Theatre Director Abel Cornejo.

For audition preparation, be ready to share a funny or interesting story in a storytelling style (memorization not required). In the cold reading, you’ll also read from the script, with time to familiarize yourself before the audition begins.

“We aim to keep things lighthearted and fun,” said Cornejo. “So relax, and show us what you’ve got.”

Rehearsals will be Nov. 4 through Dec. 4; performances are slated for Dec. 5, 6, 7 and 8. The director will be Kelly Pigeon James.

“The Little Town of Christmas” is a delightful show featuring 12 short, hilarious skits set in the quirky and charming town of Christmas. From a pair of bumbling elves to a wisecracking reindeer, you’ll meet a cast of characters guaranteed to spread holiday laughter. Audiences can expect a lighthearted twist on classic Christmas stories such as “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and “A Christmas Carol,” along with a street-corner Santa facing off with a tough little kid.
