DIXON, CA (MPG) - The Annual Dixon Senior Resource Fair is on Saturday, Oct. 19, and will feature the Senior of the Year honor bestowed on Yvonne McCluskey.

This year, as they have in past years, the Advocates for Dixon Seniors will recognize an Outstanding Dixon Senior Citizen; this year, the honor goes to long-time Dixonite, Yvonne McCluskey. The public is welcome to join in celebrating McCluskey’s life of family and community service at the Senior Resource Fair; there, they can show their love and appreciation for her life of giving.

It will be a busy morning as organizers have a good number of senior-related organizations and businesses on board to provide a morning of information and resources that are pertinent to seniors, their families, and caregivers. The event takes place from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Dixon Senior Multi-Use Center, 201 South 5th Street. Everything is free, so leave your purses and wallets at home. Light refreshments will be available and fabulous raffle prizes are provided by each of the Fair’s vendors. Everyone is encouraged to think about a senior relative, friend or neighbor that could benefit from the 3 hours of fun, food, freebies and socialization. They will be glad they did it.

Dan Ferrick is the Dixon Senior Club President and will be the Master of Ceremonies during the

Senior Fair Event. Those currently on the roster include Aetna Medicare Solutions, Comfort Keepers, Community Health Initiative, Dixon Community Theater, Dixon Family Services, Dixon Fire Department, Dixon Grocery Outlet, Dixon Library Friends, and the Dixon Police Department; Dixon Readi-Ride, Dixon Senior Citizens Club, Dixon Women’s Improvement Club, Dixon Historical Society, Faith in Action, Farmstead Senior Living, Food Bank of Contra Costa-Solano, and Gentiva Hospice will also be involved.
