How to Celebrate Veterans Day in Dixon

SOLANO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - With Veterans Day quickly approaching on Nov. 11, the question of how we can celebrate and support these brave men and women for their service and sacrifice cannot be understated. Fortunately, many organizations in the area are holding Veterans Day activities.
Locally, Veterans Day will be celebrated at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1305 N. First St., Dixon, hosted by American Legion Post 208. The Veterans Day Dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 8, will be a casual, community event.

The Northern Solano County Association of Realtors will also host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 at Andrews Park, 614 E Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville. Themed around honor and duty, the free event will pay tribute with patriotic music and a guest speaker. Organizers will supply free coffee and donuts for attendees. Bring your family and friends to this patriotic in-person event at 9 a.m. Nov. 11, Veteran’s Day. The City of Fairfield will host a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Fairfield on Nov. 11. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a commemoration ceremony and concert at Downtown Theater, 1035 Texas St., hosted by Travis Airforce Base and conducted by the Fairfield/Suisun City American Legion Reams Post 182. The parade proper begins at 12:30 p.m.; the route will travel from Kentucky Street to Great Jones Street before turning onto Texas Street and ending on Washington Street. For those looking for a quieter affair, there is always the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
While the National Cemetery might not have any form of ceremonies or services for the holiday, daily visitation services from sunrise to sunset is offered every day, including on Veterans Day.
