Travis Credit Union Scholarships
Travis Credit Union, 1470 Ary Ln, is awarding $2000 in scholarships to 20 current, college-bound, high school seniors in Fall 2025. The 2025 Community Impact Scholarship application period is from Oct. 1 to March 3, 2025; applicants must be Travis Credit Union members, and the application must be turned in by 11:59 p.m. on March 3.

Toiletries Drive
American Legion Post 208 will host a Toiletries Drive from 2 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 and 14. The Legion is asking for the following items, all new: shampoo, conditioner, combs, bar soap, deodorant, disposable razors, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, disposable wipes, socks and blankets. All donations go to veterans and the homeless in need. Drop by Veterans Hall, 1305 N First St., and donate on Nov. 8 and 14.

All Hat No Cattle (Ruhstaller)
Ruhstaller Beer Farm, 6686 Sievers Road, will host a free performance for All Hat No Cattle at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9. All Hat No Cattle is a country cover band out of Sacramento that plays everything from 80s ballads to current country hits. Beer and wine will be served at the event, as well as ice cream and more; there will even be a food truck. All donations go to the musicians, so swing by Ruhstaller on Nov. 9 and support.

Remember, Respect and Honor Motorcycle Run
Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, in collaboration with RememberAVet.net, will host the 12th Annual Remember, Respect and Honor Motorcycle Run at 8 a.m. on Nov. 10. The event will take place at Buckhorn Bar & Grill, 830 N Adams St.; coffee and donuts will be provided, but, with a $30 donation per person, you can get a tri-tip lunch with all the fixings and two boughs, to honor the fallen. There will also be a prize raffle for anyone looking to take something home.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Wreath Project, a local group that raises funds and coordinates wreath-laying events every December at The Sacramento Valley National Cemetery since 2006. So far, they have maintained 100% coverage every year, making sure each headstone has an accompanying holiday bough. This year, they will need 35,000 boughs purchased to reach their goal. Boughs cost $7. If you would like to volunteer your time as well, the public is invited to help place the boughs starting 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 14.

Robin Hood: The Musical
Winters Theatre Company, 13 Main St., presents “Robin Hood: The Musical” live at Winters Opera House. The musical, inspired by the 1974 Davis Bad Actors Parody, is an original work that acts as a retelling of the classic tale for a modern audience. The play will be shown Friday through Sunday every week starting Nov. 22, with the final performance falling on Dec. 1; Fridays and Saturdays will see showtimes from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., whereas Sundays will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
On Nov. 22, opening night, the organizers will be holding a Gala at 6 p.m. to celebrate the event, and to allow guests to mingle with the cast and crew before the first showing. General admission goes for $17.85, but the Opening Night Gala will be $28.52 and include champagne and dessert; a non-alcoholic beverage and dessert ticket is also on sale for $23.18.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece
The Enlightened Loft, 622 Webster St, Fairfield, will host a festive workshop on creating a Thanksgiving Pumpkin Floral Centerpiece. Learn how to design a beautiful centerpiece using seasonal pumpkins and fall flowers from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 23. General admission is $49.57.

Calling All Directors!
Dixon Community Theater is looking for passionate directors who have a production or productions that they would like to see on the stage.
For those interested, at minimum, Dixon Community Theater needs a program selection form (either PDF or Excel) that explains the proposal and type of production you wish to make, a realistic timeframe and any ideas, visions, or goals for the production. A copy of the script must also be included. Musical submissions must also include either a copy of a cast recording or a link to the music you wish to use. Musical submissions will not be considered without accompanying recordings or links. A theatrical resume outlining your theatrical background and past directing experience will also be necessary. All submissions must be received or postmarked by Dec. 1; applications can be emailed, but for those who wish to mail or drop off their submissions, send to 1285 Stratford Ave. Suite G, Box 308.

Line Dancing at Ruhstaller
Ruhstaller Beer Farm, 6686 Sievers Road, will host line dancing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. Yolo Line Dance, a collective of line dancing instructors from Yolo County, will partner with the brewery to bring the community together one dance step at a time. Tapps Kitchen, a catering and food truck company with a focus on modern flavors, fresh technique, and fresh quality taste, will also be open at the venue from 3 to 8 p.m. All are welcome to come dance, and all donations for the event will be given to a nonprofit organization.

Spirit of Solano Luncheon
Spirit of Solano, an organization that honors Solano County-based businesses and Chambers of Commerce, will host their 29th Annual Luncheon on Dec. 5. There, The Spirit of Solano Award will be rewarded to those that strive to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve. An official time for the event has yet to be announced, but interested parties can RSVP now for $50 a person, or $500 for a table; payment must be received by Nov. 18 to secure your reservation.

Holiday Tree Charcuterie Workshop
Over the Moon Grazing Co., a gourmet catering and charcuterie company, will host a Holiday Tree Charcuterie workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 15. Held at Bud’s Pub and Grill, 100 S First St., the festive event will help attendees create their own beautiful holiday charcuterie boards. Prizes and refreshments will be available as well; at $90 per person, guests will also get a complementary glass of wine, shared appetizers and a Kraft box and ribbon to take home their creations safely.
