DIXON, CA (MPG) - Christmas has come to a close, and with New Year’s Eve around the corner, many restaurants and bars in the area will be closed for the next few days. Luckily, several major bars and restaurants will be open in Dixon but will not be holding any particular events or festivities.

Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, 250 Dorset Court, will be open on New Year’s Eve for an additional hour, from 3 to 10 p.m. instead of its regular 4 to 10 p.m. schedule. The steakhouse will also be open on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, at regular hours. Cattlemen’s also offers a variety of dishes that can be ordered ahead of time and taken to-go. Bud’s Pub & Grill, 100 S. First St., will maintain regular hours on New Year’s Eve, serving dinner until 9 p.m., as the holiday falls on a Tuesday. The Pub will also be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year’s Day. For more information, visit budsdixon.com or call 707-678-4745.

Dawson’s Bar & Grill, 105 N. First St., is hosting a New Year’s Eve Party Dec. 31. There will be entertainment, dinner and drink specials and extended hours for the bar. The restaurant will serve food from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the bar will remain open until 2 a.m. so guests can ring in the new year at Dawson’s. HK Garden Chinese Restaurant, 1145 Pitt School Road, will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. This can also be said of Capital China Restaurant, 1285 Stratford Ave., Suite H, which will operate at regular hours both days, from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. Many Chinese restaurants tend to be open around this time because the Chinese New Year is on a Lunar-based calendar, meaning it is based off the rotations of the moon rather than the sun. For those craving breakfast, Denny’s, 1250 Stratford Ave., is open daily 24 hours a day, including on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Starbucks, 2590 N. First St., will also be open both days, closing at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 and 8 p.m. Jan. 1.

Local options are plentiful in Dixon, regardless of the holiday.
