Dixon Community Theater Announces Auditions for “Hamlet: Paranormal Activity”

DIXON, CA (MPG) - Prepare to enter a world where Shakespeare meets the supernatural! Dixon Community Theater (DCT) is excited to announce open auditions for its season premiere, Hamlet: Paranormal Activity. This innovative, modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy promises an electrifying blend of timeless drama and eerie paranormal intrigue. 

The audition dates are Monday, Jan. 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Auditions will take place at the Dixon Senior Center, 201 S. Fifth St., Dixon.

No experience is required! Dixon Community Theater encourages actors of all backgrounds to audition as part of its commitment to inclusive casting. Participants will read from the script and have time to prepare and review lines.

Available roles are listed below.

Hamlet is devastated by his father’s death, and he seeks answers in a world of uncertainty. 

King Claudius is Hamlet’s uncle and the newly crowned King of Denmark. 

Gertrude is Hamlet’s mother, caught between her son and her new husband. 

The Ghost is a spirit trapped between worlds, seeking to reveal the truth. 

Polonius is the cunning chief advisor to the King. 

Ophelia is Polonius’s daughter, torn between love and loyalty. 

This bold new production reimagines Hamlet with contemporary dialogue and retro-hip visuals, set against a haunting alternative music soundtrack. Audiences will experience the drama of Elsinore Castle like never before, where ghostly apparitions and chilling soundscapes blur the line between the living and the dead.
