DIXON, CA (MPG) - The Creative Space, founded by Dixon resident Sarah Johnson in late March 2022 at 160 W. A St., has recently seen significant changes.

The space, established to host events and bring the community together, has semi-new management and a new name. The Creative Space has been rebranded into The Venue, and, under the dual leadership of Johnson and Beri Gonzalez, they are excited to reintroduce the business to the public.

“I am the owner of PartyOn Events Co., we do events and decorum,” Gonzalez said. “We do rentals, florals and work on a lot of venues. When Sarah invited me to join, we wanted to create a nicer venue; something more aesthetic.”

Said Johnson, “Now, because Beri is heading a lot of The Venue side, I am able to focus on classes, workshops and vendors through Blossom and Bee.”

The Venue hosts events, such as baby showers, weddings and graduations. The business, originally an extension of The Creative Space, offers classes and workshops to create opportunities to learn, grow and create.

“Me and another good friend of mine came up with Blossom and Bee,” Johnson said. “It was just a way of bringing in local, small businesses to brand themselves and get started. Maybe even some of them can host workshops on their expertise.”

Gonzalez said that her interest in the field began out of a passion for event planning, having accumulated so many items, materials and resources that the next logical step was to join the industry. The event space also offers a fully equipped professional-grade kitchen, which includes a four-burner gas range, char-griller and convection oven.

Transition into The Venue started last October.

“It’s kind of like opening a new business,” Johnson said. “We already have lots of inquiries for businesses contacting us. It’s been nonstop.”

The Venue is the first of several new business ventures this year.

“We love the ability to provide a place where people can bring their ideas to come to life,” Johnson said. “We’re not contracted with anyone but we have many businesses we support. On my end, I just hope to bring local small businesses a place to get started and gain experience through vendor events.”
