Drop-in Play at Hall Park
Jim B. Stevens Arena, 450 Hall Park Drive, is now open for free drop-in play from 12 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday; Salaber All-Weather Synthetic Play Field, a turf field also located in Hall Park, is open for free drop-in play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays. Attendees can show up during the specified time and use the athletic spaces for activities such as soccer, flag football and more.

Line Dancing at Ruhstaller
Ruhstaller Farms, 6686 Sievers Road, is hosting line dancing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 6. In partnership with Yolo Line Dance, other sessions of line dancing will take place March 6, April 3, May 1 and June 5. Dinner, served by Tapps Kitchen, will be available from 3 to 8 p.m. Attendees can donate and each month, donations will be given to a different nonprofit organization.

Dixon Scottish Cultural Association Burns Dinner
The Dixon Scottish Cultural Association is hosting a catered dinner in honor of Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 8. Taking place at the Yolo Masonic Lodge, 1655 Davinci Court, Davis, attendees can expect a dinner of beef, chicken and haggis. Seating is available for $60 for members and $65 for non-members.

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser Moose Lodge
Dixon Moose Lodge number 1120, located at 180 W. B St., is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The Lodge is offering all-you-can-eat spaghetti for $20 per person. Tickets are available to members and qualified guests and can be purchased in person at the Moose Lodge or by calling either 530-219-1653 or 530-867-1693.

“Bee Mine” Valentine Cookie Class
Every Baking Moment, 143 N. First St. is hosting a Valentine’s Cookie Class from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 10. The two-hour class will teach participants how to bake and decorate bee-themed cookies shaped like bees and honeycombs, all in time for Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14. All supplies are provided and the class costs $50 per person.

Spanish Readers Theater
Dixon Community Theater is inviting Spanish speakers of all ages and backgrounds to read and act out plays in Spanish. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11, the no-cost program offers acting and script-reading opportunities for Spanish speakers of all skill levels, from fluent speakers to beginners. The event will take place at the Dixon Library, 230 N. Jefferson St.

Dixon Library Book Club
Dixon Library, 230 N. First St., is hosting its monthly morning book club meeting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 13. The morning book club is a monthly, adult-oriented group that will be starting “The World Record Book of Racist Stories” by Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar. Coffee and tea will be provided for attendees and the meeting will be in the front room of the library.

Dixon FFA Car Show
The Dixon Future Farmers of America (FFA) is hosting the second annual Dixon FFA Car Show at Dixon High School, 555 College Way. From 12 to 4 p.m. Feb. 15, the free public event allows both Dixon High School and residents the opportunity to showcase their cars to the public. Entry is also free and is available to Dixon High School students via applications in the ag building at school. Non-students can apply via a QR code on Instagram @DixonFFA.

VFW Upcoming Meeting
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8151, will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 19. Meetings are held every third Wednesday at The Olde Vets Hall, 231 N First St. Official business meetings start at 7 p.m. but the hall opens for set-up and socializing at 6 p.m. Socializing will continue after the meeting’s business portion.
