DIXON, CA (MPG) – Who doesn’t love Bingo?  The Dixon Women’s Improvement Club won’t have anything serious planned (except having fun) for its March 19 general meeting until after a crazy Bingo game complete with prizes starting at 1 p.m. at the Dixon United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Club President Teri Brown will lead club members in several fun games and will conduct the business meeting afterward.

This year’s programs were developed from membership surveys with a goal to provide opportunities for learning interesting topics and enjoying creative activities at monthly meetings. The program is open to all members and guests are welcome to attend.

In addition, the board and the committee chairs have selected an excursion to 8 Gables Goat Ranch in rural Vacaville on March 27, weather permitting, and a large fundraising dinner will be on May 2 at Pedro’s Cocina. More information on the fundraiser will be announced soon.

The Dixon Women’s Improvement Club was established in 1899 in Dixon. The founders were women from families who had settled in the Dixon area following the Gold Rush of 1849 and were interested in beautifying and improving the town of Dixon.

The club’s purpose is to operate a nonprofit, charitable organization for the beautification, improvement and promotion of the best interests for the city of Dixon through club-directed projects and community activities.

Dixon Women’s Improvement Club meetings are held from 1 to 3 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Fellowship Hall of the Dixon United Methodist Church, 209 North Jefferson St. Light refreshments are served.

The club is open to women who are interested in joining. To become an active member, a woman is required to pay $35 in annual membership dues. For more information, call Brown at 916-601-3371.
