DIXON, CA (MPG) - The Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce sponsored the christening of a new location for a trio of old faces.

Held at 5:30 p.m. May 22, Lisa Castillo of Castillo’s Legal Life Support, Diana Ramirez of Magic Mortgage and Crystal Rico of Farmers Insurance hosted a joint ribbon cutting, inviting the community to participate.

According to Rico, all three businesses, having been in operation in Dixon for years, moved collectively to their new location at 1170 N. Lincoln St., because of their relationships.

“There are two main reasons for switching locations: I have an incredible relationship with Castillo and Ramirez, do great business together, and even refer people to each other. Secondly, this location used to be a Farmers location under Jose Casas. There has been a Farmers agent in this building for the last 50 years and I wanted to lean into that continuity,” said Rico.

Rico has lived in Dixon for 25 years and began working in the insurance industry in 2020 after post-COVID troubles. While expecting her third child, Rico’s uncle, James Peregrino, reached out with an opportunity. As a district manager for Farmers Insurance, he offered her an opportunity to join the team.

According to Rico, she is now one of the top-producing agents in Peregrino’s district.

“I was able to achieve Toppers Club in 2023,” said Rico. “You achieve that by becoming the top 10% of agents across the country. That was a proud milestone for me.”

Rico, Castillo and Ramirez regularly refer clients to each other because their businesses have natural synergy. According to Castillo, the trio is a powerhouse in the community.

“We’re really plugging in to the diversity of Dixon. Being bilingual, we’re able to provide sources that are lacking to the community. Our collaboration is pretty ideal. Ramirez can get them in a home, Rico can protect their home and I can help with future planning for the home,” said Castillo.

Castillo, a Dixon native, has been in the legal life support industry since 2018. Her services include estate planning, family law, conservatorship/guardianship, probate, notary services and business formation.

“I provide a whole host of legal services,” said Castillo, “but I cannot represent clients in a court of law or get involved with criminal law.”

Like Castillo, Ramirez of Magic Mortgage is also a Dixon native, having been in the mortgage and lending industry since 2004.

“I started doing loans when I was going to Sac State my senior year. I graduated in 2005 with a major in accounting and a minor in chemistry,” said Ramirez.

At Magic Mortgage, Ramirez offers mortgage brokerage and loan consultation services, including conventional, USDA, VA and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans. All three businesses are members of both the Dixon and Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, allowing them to serve most of their clients, who, according to Ramirez, are Hispanic or Spanish speaking.

The event offered door prizes, including a flat-screen television and branded gift baskets, as well as carnitas, rice and beans, provided by Super La Favorita Meat Market in Dixon. Notable attendees included Lois Cross representing Senator Christopher Cabaldon, William Duncan representing Senator Mike Thompson, and key members of both the Dixon and Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
