SOLANO COUNTY, CA (MPG) – Solano Community College is proud to announce that Board President Denis Honeychurch was recently recognized at the 2025 Annual Trustees Conference for more than 40 years of dedicated service to the College and the Solano County community. 

First elected to the Governing Board in December 1985, President Honeychurch has been a steady advocate for higher education and public service throughout his long tenure. His continued presence on the board reflects a deep commitment to expanding educational opportunity and supporting student success across the region. 

“President Honeychurch’s dedication to Solano Community College and to public higher education is commendable,” said Dr. Kellie Sims Butler, Superintendent-President of Solano Community College. “We are grateful for his many years of public service and his support of students in Solano County.” 

Beyond his leadership role on the Board, Honeychurch is an accomplished criminal defense attorney with more than 50 years of experience practicing in Northern California. A graduate of University of California, Los Angeles and University of California Hastings College of the Law, Honeychurch has been recognized as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” for more than a decade, earning respect for his legal expertise and professionalism. 

A longtime contributor to the local community, Honeychurch has also served on the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District Board and received multiple accolades for his legal practice. Honeychurch’s recognition at the Trustees Conference underscores the importance of long-term civic engagement and highlights the positive impact of sustained leadership in public education.
