September Events at Dixon Library for Teens and Adults

The Dixon Public Library hosts two adult-oriented book clubs, one that runs on the first Wednesday every month at the Pip Wine Bar, 116 N. DIXON, CA (MPG) - Throughout September, Dixon Public Library is hosting several events aimed at educating and uplifting both teens and adults as the holiday season approaches.
Regarding youth-focused activities, the library is holding Nintendo Switch Game Days every Tuesday from Sept. 2 to Dec. 2. From 3:30 to 5 p.m., tweens and teens aged 10 to 18 can visit the library at 230 N. First St. to play games and unwind after school.
On Sept. 10, the library will host a special teen meet and greet with Dixon Unified School District Superintendent Brett Barley from 4 to 5 p.m. The event is open to youths aged 10 to 18.
Additionally, the library will present Teen Chalk Art on the Sidewalk from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 20. Youths aged 10 to 18 can showcase their creativity in this art-focused event. Registration is recommended but not mandatory.

For adults, the library offers a variety of activities, including Poppin’ Bottles & Pop Culture Reads on Sept. 3. This event takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Pip Wine Bar, 116 N. First St. Each month, members select and read a book based on a rotating theme.
For September, the theme is Double Trouble, encouraging attendees to read books featuring twins, clones or doppelgängers. Snacks and wine will be provided, so participants must be 21 or older.
The library is also hosting a local history talk from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 9 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of California’s statehood. Dixon Historical Society members will educate guests about the state’s history and Dixon’s role in California’s heritage.
Finally, the library will host its monthly morning book club from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 11. Located in the library's front room, the club will discuss “All the Sinners Bleed” by S.A. Cosby. Coffee and tea will be available.
