DIXON, CA (MPG) - Dixon Unified School District hosted its annual Fall Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Dixon High School quad, 555 College Way, drawing students, families and community members for an evening of seasonal activities, performances and food.
The quad was transformed into an Apple Hill-themed setting, complete with autumn décor and a large welcome sign provided by Yard Love Dixon. Visitors moved through rows of booths and attractions operated by school clubs and organizations, with each game or activity costing $1 to $2.
Proceeds will support the groups that staffed them. Options included pumpkin bowling, pumpkin painting, face painting and a booth offering participants the chance to win a goldfish.
Live entertainment ran throughout the event. Performers included a local high school band, the Dixon Community Theater, Ramtown Karate and classes from Gretchen Higgins Elementary School. A deejay also played music during the festival, providing background sound as patrons visited activities and vendor stations.

One of the most popular draws was the dunk tank staffed by Dixon Unified educators and district leadership. Volunteers included Hannah Palchik, an English teacher at John Knight Middle School, Andrue Wright, a social science teacher at Dixon High School and George Fountain, a physical education teacher at John Knight Middle School. Dixon Unified School District Board President Julian Cuevas also took a turn in the tank.
The event offered a variety of food options and fall-themed goods. Vendors sold Apple Hill-inspired treats, tamales, baked goods and items from local food trucks. Craft booths featured handmade jewelry, woodwork, crochet pieces, wellness products and early holiday gifts.
Additional attractions included a petting zoo and wagon rides. Families were able to view livestock from Dixon Future Farmers of America (FFA) and take wagon rides around the school grounds.
