Officer-Involved Shooting Update

DIXON, CA (MPG) - Dixon Police Department is providing an update regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Dec. 7 in the 6800 block of Sievers Road. Earlier, officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway on North First Street with no lights on. Officers contacted the driver, who then drove away. The vehicle entered eastbound Interstate 80 and exited at Pedrick Road, where it came to a stop. During the subsequent encounter, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The individual was transported to a hospital for treatment. No Dixon police officers were injured.

As required under the countywide critical incident protocol, the Solano County District Attorney’s Major Crimes Task Force is leading the criminal investigation into the shooting. The Dixon Police Department is cooperating fully with their work.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further details are being released at this time. Additional information will be provided as appropriate and in coordination with the Major Crimes Task Force.
