DIXON, CA (MPG) - A full slate of holiday events is scheduled across Dixon this December, featuring community visits from Santa, charitable drives, volunteer opportunities and local business gatherings.

The Dixon Fire Department will lead its annual Santa Run beginning Dec. 16, bringing Santa Claus through several neighborhoods over four nights. Firefighters will escort Santa through the Conejo Park area from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 16, traveling between Stratford Avenue and North Lincoln Street. The route continues from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 17 in the Veterans Park area, from Parkway Boulevard to Dixon Avenue.

The Santa Run moves to the Northwest Park area from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 18, covering Dixon Avenue to West H Street. The final stop is planned for 6 p.m. Dec. 19 at Pardi Market Plaza, where a photo opportunity with Santa will begin. Kettle corn and hot apple cider will be available. Residents can track nightly progress using the Santa Tracker QR code provided by the fire department.

At Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., the annual Wreath Project will return Dec. 13. Volunteers will begin placing boughs at 7:30 a.m., with a Wreaths Across America ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m. The cemetery places holiday boughs on all gravesites each December, a tradition that began in 2006. Organizers aim to supply 38,000 boughs this year, funded through donations collected year-round. Participation is open to volunteers of all ages, and carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking.

Santa will make another local appearance at the Bank of Stockton, 2200 N. First St., from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19. The branch will host a public holiday gathering featuring treats, hot chocolate and photos with Santa.
