DIXON, CA (MPG) - February brings a range of community events in Dixon, with activities planned for youth, families, seniors, business owners and theatergoers throughout the month.
Dixon Library, 230 N. First St., will host several programs focused on youth engagement and education. A Teen Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating event is scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 4. The program is open to tweens and teens ages 10 to 18.
From 4 to 5 p.m. Feb. 11, the library will host a Teen Dating Violence Awareness program in partnership with the Solano Family Justice Center. Topics include safe relationships and recognizing interpersonal violence. The event is designed for tweens and teens ages 10 to 18. Seating is limited, and registration is recommended.
Nintendo Switch Gamedays will continue at the library on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. through May 26. The gaming sessions are also geared toward participants ages 10 to 18.
For younger students, Kids Homework Help will be offered on Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. beginning Feb. 2 and continuing through May 4. The program is available to students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The Dixon Library Board and Solano County Library will host a community input meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5. Organizers are seeking public feedback as they plan a renovation and expansion of the Dixon Library. For more information, visit solanolibrary.com or call 1-866-572-7587.
The Dixon Chamber of Commerce has scheduled two networking events in February. Lunch Bunch will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Bud’s Pub & Grill, 100 S. First St. The monthly meeting, held every third Tuesday, features a no-host lunch and networking among chamber members.
A Chamber Networking Lunch is planned from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Farmstead at Dixon Senior Living, 350 Gateway Drive. The in-person event is open to local professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards.

REM Legacy Foundation, a Sacramento-based organization that supports grieving families emotionally and financially, will host a Senior Prom Party from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Dixon Senior Center, 201 S. Fifth St. The event is free for residents ages 65 and older. Attendees may dress up, and senior resources will be available during the event. Evening performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 20, Feb. 21, Feb. 27 and Feb. 28. Matinee performances will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 and March 1. All shows will take place at the Dixon Performing Arts Center, 555 College Way. Tickets will be available online beginning Feb. 1.

February also includes nationally recognized observances such as Black History Month, Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 and Presidents' Day on Feb. 16.
Together, the February schedule reflects a cross-section of Dixon’s community life, with opportunities for learning, connection and participation across all ages.
