Dixon High School Boys Varsity Track Team will compete at home at 11 a.m. April 18. Hosted at Dixon High School, 555 College Way, the Rams will take on the Bella Vista High School Broncos.

Free Smoke Alarm Event
The Senior/Multi-use Center is hosting a free smoke alarm and fire prevention education event with American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25. Held at the Multi-use Center, 201 S. Fifth St., Dixon residents who sign up will receive free 10-year smoke alarm installation, alarm checks and a personalized fire escape plan on the day of the event.

The Dixon Chamber of Commerce is hosting a networking event from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 16. This free in-person event, held at The Farmstead at Dixon, 350 Gateway Drive, allows local professionals to connect. Teen Open Mic Night
Dixon Library is hosting a Teen Open Mic Poetry Night from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 16 in recognition of National Poetry Month. Held at the library, 230 N. First St., the free event will see teen participants performing poetry or music, with acts limited to five minutes. Vulgar language is prohibited. Registration is recommended but not required.

Bunco Night
Joystick Gaming Lounge will host its monthly Bunco Night from 6 to 8 p.m. April 23. Held at the lounge, 420 Gateway Dr., Suite C, the event includes prizes, with food and beverages available for purchase. The event costs $20 per attendee. Proceeds from beer and wine sales will benefit Kiwanis Club of Dixon. Notably, Kiwanis Club will host its monthly meeting at the lounge from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 27.

Dixon Grown Outreach Meeting
The City of Dixon is hosting a series of outreach meetings to help every resident in the community have their voice heard in the future development of Dixon. Meetings are scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 22 at Gretchen Higgins Elementary, 1525 Pembroke Way, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 23 at Tremont Elementary, 355 Pheasant Run Dr., and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 25 at the Senior/Multi-Use Center, 201 S. Fifth St.

Dixon Community Theater will premiere its newest production, Rodger and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” at 7 p.m. April 24. Held at the Dixon Performing Arts Center, 555 College Way, the production will have several 7 p.m. evening showtimes, including April 25, May 1 and May 2. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be held April 26 and May 3. Tickets are already on sale online but can be purchased at the door.

Dixon Library is hosting after-school homework help courtesy of Dixon High School Key Club from 4 to 5 p.m. April 20. Held at the library, 230 N. First St., the free event offers homework support to students in kindergarten through 6th grade on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
