Summer Events Scheduled Across Dixon Through August

DIXON, CA (MPG) – A range of community events are scheduled in Dixon throughout the summer months, offering residents and visitors opportunities to engage in local history, entertainment and fundraising activities.
Downtown Dixon Business Association will host Railroad Days from June 20 to 21. The event, first introduced in 2023, is designed as a family-oriented addition to the city’s downtown programming. Activities will include model train displays, children’s attractions, food vendors and retail shopping.

In previous years, more than 20 wineries and over 22 businesses participated, including the recently opened Dwelley Family Winery, which will host its grand opening alongside the Chamber of Commerce May 1.

Dixon Historical Society, 125 W. A St. will also maintain a full calendar of activities. The group plans to participate in the Dixon May Fair from May 7 to 10 with a booth featuring historical information and merchandise. Additional events include Pioneer Days at Dixon Montessori on May 19 to 20 and a museum presentation on the history of the Dixon May Fair scheduled for June 28. The society will also take part in Railroad Days and the Art and Wine Stroll, with museum programming aligned with both events.

Community-focused fundraising efforts are also planned. Dixon Family Services will host its annual Comedy Night Fundraiser on Aug. 8 at the Olde Vet’s Hall, 231 N. First St. The evening will include dinner and entertainment, with comedian David Studebaker serving as master of ceremonies alongside a guest performer. Proceeds will support the organization’s programs. The group is also seeking adult volunteers in areas including reception, technical support, clerical work and food sorting.

Another fundraising event, hosted by American Legion Post 208, is scheduled for Aug. 2. The bingo fundraiser will take place at Veterans Memorial Hall, 1305 N. First St., and will include 10 games for $30, with six cards per game. More cards can be purchased throughout the event.

In July, the Dixon Toy Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 25 at the Dixon May Fairgrounds, 655 S. First St. Organized by a collectibles business based in Roseville, the event will focus on vintage toys and feature 50 vendors.
Dixon’s Action Team will host Grillin’ & Chillin’ from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 27. The all-day event will include a car and truck show, rib cook-off, vendor fair, children’s activities and live music. A VIP experience will also be available, offering rib tastings and access to designated facilities at the Dixon Moose Lodge. Participants in the cook-off will compete for a People’s Choice Award, determined by attendee voting.
