DIXON, CA (MPG) – The Spanish Department at Dixon High School has selected Ambar Lara Angel as the April Young Woman of the Month for Dixon High. Angel is the daughter of Antonio Lara and Irma Angel. Angel’s siblings include Andres, Arturo and Uriel, who all attended Dixon High School.

Angel’s accomplishment she is most proud of is being the first in her family to graduate high school.

Spanish teacher, Sergio Luna, said that for Angel, “family is not just important – it is everything.”

He went on to state that while “she faced challenges, she never allowed those obstacles to define her. This speaks to her commitment to self-improvement. She sought support when needed and her perseverance is what has allowed her to succeed.”

Angel has worked hard while in high school, pursuing her education while working to help support her family. Her plan after graduation is to continue working while also attending esthetics school.

Angel’s ambition, independence and vision for her future are inspiring, and there is no doubt that she has the determination to achieve everything she sets her mind to. Congratulations Angel!
