DIXON, CA (MPG) - Soroptimist International of Dixon proudly celebrates another remarkable year of service, continuing a 65-year tradition of making a meaningful difference in the lives of women, girls and families throughout Dixon and beyond.

Founded on April 19, 1961, the club recently celebrated its 65th anniversary, honoring decades of leadership, friendship and community service. While reflecting on its rich history, members also looked ahead with renewed commitment to their mission: Empowering Women and Girls. Strengthening Our Community.

Through education, leadership opportunities, training and essential resources, Soroptimist helps women and girls achieve economic independence and reach their full potential. By working alongside community partners, volunteers and local organizations, the club continues to expand opportunities and create lasting change.

Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community. Your generosity—through financial contributions, volunteer service and in-kind donations—is the driving force behind every program and every life touched.

This year alone, Soroptimist International of Dixon proudly supported donations of awarded scholarships and educational awards to 12 graduating high school seniors, Continued the Young Woman of the Month program, recognizing exceptional young women making a positive impact in their schools and communities. Presented the Live Your Dream Award, helping women who are heads of household continue their education and improve the lives of their families. As well as honored an outstanding community leader with the Ruby Award and recognized an exceptional teen volunteer through the Violet Richardson Award.

The club also continued supporting a wide variety of organizations and programs that enrich the community, including veterans and the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Meals on Wheels, Dixon May Fair and Parade, Youth sports programs, Camp Kesem, SOCK (childhood cancer support programs), family services, scholarships and educational initiatives and many other local nonprofits and community causes.

Beyond fundraising and service projects, members enjoyed a year filled with inspiring speakers, meaningful connections and opportunities to learn from remarkable individuals who are making a difference in our region. These experiences continue to strengthen the club's commitment to service and inspire members to expand their impact.
