DIXON, CA (MPG) – This weekend, the Dixon community got to experience a weekend full of tasty wine and innovative art pieces on a stroll downtown. The Downtown Dixon Business Association presented its fourth annual Art and Wine Stroll on Saturday, Aug 22. This event gave residents of Dixon a chance to learn about local businesses while sipping some good wine!

Not only were there fantastic local wine tastings and art displays, but the event also featured food trucks, live music and various shopping from local businesses.

The event was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Downtown Dixon, featuring various vendors and shopping through A Street, B Street, First Street and Mayes Street. The wine and art stroll featured 22 different local businesses at vendor booths for guests to check out while on the walk. Each business was numbered on a map in order of the walking route.

Beginning the walk on First Street, the first business guests were greeted with was Lukes Lounge, a cocktail bar pouring samples of their delicious drinks. Directly next to Lukes Lounge you could find Clyde’s Place, a salon and spa in the heart of Downtown Dixon.

Many businesses offered treats for guests even if they weren’t a local eatery or bar, for instance First Northern Bank located on First Street, greeted attendees with tasty hors d’oeuvres at their booth. Century 21 also offered glasses of wine from the Fairfield winery, Vezer Vineyard. The Historical Society and Museum held an informative booth with hors d’oeuvres and wine as well.

Of course, you cannot have a wine and art stroll without the fantastic creative Dixon artists. Local art was shown throughout the walk for guests to admire while attending local business booths. One of the art pieces shown was a captivating portrait of a horse titled, “Western Rein,” by local Dixon resident and equestrian, Lauren Ann Wagner.

Keeping good vibes throughout the stroll, local country band, Smokehouse Reunion returned for live music at the Pardi Plaza during the event. As attendees strolled through downtown, Smokehouse Reunion’s smooth blend of country and southern rock sound was the soundtrack of the event.

Tickets were $25 per person with online registration but increased to $30 at the door, both included a commemorative wine glass to begin the celebration.
