Dixon Teen Center Hiring

Dixon Teen Center is looking to hire a Teen Center Coordinator. The requirements of the position include excellent people skills, especially with teens, coordination experience, and availability every Friday and Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Toastmasters Open House

Dixon Toastmasters are hosting a series of meetings open to the public from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every second and fourth Tuesday. Held in-person at Mountain Mike’s Pizza, 1700 N. First St., the meeting will have a simultaneous virtual option, allowing attendees to participate over Zoom.

Chamber Networking Lunch

The Dixon Chamber of Commerce is hosting a networking event from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17. This free in-person event, held at Farmstead at Dixon, 350 Gateway Drive, allows local professionals to connect. Fall Water Aerobics

The city of Dixon is hosting a low-impact water aerobics class from Aug. 9 to Oct. 4. Held at Pat Granucci Aquatic Center, 450 E. Mayes St., the class is catered for attendees 14 years and older and daily admission costs $6 for the general public and $4.50 for seniors 55 and older. The class is available from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sundays and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Fridays.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi classes are starting at the Dixon Senior Center, 201 S. Fifth Street, Sept. 3 and will take place Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. There is a new class special at $5 per drop-in. Benefits of tai chi include improved balance and coordination, increased flexibility and strength, reducing stress and promote mindfulness, and low-impact exercise for all ages.

All are welcome – no experience necessary.

Senior Resource Fair

The Advocates for Dixon Seniors present the 24th annual Senior Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 at Dixon Senior/Multi-Use Center 201 S. Fifth St., Dixon. Information and resources will be provided from a variety of participants in the areas of safety, health care, transportation, utilities, elder law, fitness, nutrition, benefits and recreation. The event is free to the public and features giveaways and raffles. For information, call 707-678-7022.

Solano Home & Garden Show

The Fall Home Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20 at the Dixon Fairgrounds, 655 S. First St. The regional home improvement and gardening expo will feature vendors, landscaping ideas, home products, demonstrations and local businesses serving homeowners.
