DIXON, CA (MPG) - The Ag Science Department at Dixon High School selected Addison Conrad-Whitehead as the October Young Woman of the Month. Georgia Fedler and Ashland Williams, both teachers in the Ag Science Department, presented Addison at the Oct. 15 Soroptimist meeting. Ms. Fedler noted Addison’s professionalism far beyond her years and that she always carries herself with grace and kindness.

Addison is the daughter of Nicholas Whitehead, Dakota Conrad and Gabbie Whitehead and has a sibling named Kaylee Jenkins. Addison has lived in Dixon for six years, attending John Knight Middle School before attending Dixon High School.

Addison is an active member of FFA. After attending her first leadership conference and taking some ag classes, she became deeply committed to the FFA program. In her sophomore year she held the office of sentinel; following this she served as the environmental committee liaison where she spearheaded projects, such as the school garden and school cleanups.

She is now chair of the community service committee. In the spring the plan is to implement an “Ag in a Classroom” program where FFA members will go through local elementary schools to expose younger children of agriculture. Addison has also represented Dixon at various leadership conferences and a national convention.

Coming up shortly, Addison will be attending her second national convention as a delegate for the State of California. Addison is beyond grateful to have this opportunity and will have an opportunity to vote and make changes in the national constitution. She is one of the only two delegates selected from the north coast region.

Addison figure skates and works at the Vacaville Ice Skating Rink. She has done so for the last two years. She has competed in two competitions and finds competing amazing experiences. Addison serves as a coach alongside hosting birthday parties which includes a lesson on the rink.

Addison’s future plans include studying marine science at CSU Monterey or UC San Diego.

Soroptimist International of Dixon members wish Addison the best in her future pursuits. You will surely inspire others with your professionalism, kindness and grace.
