DCT Announces Auditions for The Addams Family Musical Young@Part®

Young performers ages 8–18 are invited to join the Addams family and bring this hilarious, heartwarming, and wonderfully weird story to life on stage.

“Be Weird. Be Wicked. Be Part of the Family!” Dixon Community Youth Theater is thrilled to announce auditions for The Addams Family Musical Young@Part®, a delightfully spooky musical comedy based on the beloved characters created by Charles Addams. Young performers ages 8–18 are invited to join the Addams family and bring this hilarious, heartwarming, and wonderfully weird story to life on stage.

Featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the show follows Wednesday Addams as she falls in love with a “normal” boy and introduces his family to her delightfully eccentric clan. Directed by Kelly Pidgeon James, with assistance from Stevie Carr and choreography by Isabelle Reeder, this production provides young performers the opportunity to build acting, singing, dancing, teamwork, and confidence skills while creating lasting friendships.

Auditions will be held July 12-14, 2026 at Dixon High School Room D302. Rehearsals begin the first week of August, with performances scheduled for October 9–11 and October 16–18, 2026.

No previous theater experience is required, and performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.

Dixon Community Youth Theater, a program of Dixon Community Theater, is dedicated to providing affordable and accessible performing arts opportunities for local youth. This production is funded in part by a generous grant from the Dixon Women’s Improvement Club.
